Hello! This is my first blog and I thought I would start from the place I have born. Bangalore, Karnataka, India a small beautiful city where people should certainly visit once. In this I would like tell you each and everything I have known about Bangalore and still getting to know each day. This city located in the southern part of India was reconstructed by the king Kempegowda. He was the one responsible for Bangalore being called the 'garden city'. I have even heard it was also called by the name city of lakes long before the almost all the lakes started drying up. And the sad part is currently you hardly find one or two pure lakes in Bangalore, all others have become polluted though you can still call it as garden city 'i think'. I think because of the few green patches still left around. Since felling of trees is happening everyday in some or the other part of the city for building the metro train and for widening of roads. This will soon turn garden city into a lifeless one, though we are developing rapidly, I think having nature is more important. I think so because I love plants from my childhood and I love farming, though there is no place for a garden near my new house, I sure had a garden in the old one and love planting sapling. It feels like you are adding more life our mother earth. And coming back to 'Bangalore', you can find all kinds of people here and people from all parts of India.

And for the people who are planning to visit Bangalore, I would like to tell you about some tourist places which you'll have to visit

1. Bull temple:

This is a very famous temple in Bangalore where there is a monolithic 15ft tall statue of nandi, the bull which is believed to the vehicle of Hindu lord Shiva. This is built on a small hill and also has a Ganesha temple next to it. It also among the famous temples of India.

The timings of the temple is from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and open on all the days. It is located in Basavanagudi and is famous by the local name 'dodda ganesha temple'.

2. Lalbagh:

Maybe this also a reason why Bangalore is called the 'garden city'. Lalbagh is a very big botanical garden with the lush of greenery and a lake near its west side. A perfect place to relax, be away from city's dust and pollution though it is located near the heart of the city and near the roads with heavy traffic, you cannot feel it since lalbagh is fenced with huge trees along with big walls. The speciality of this place is its glass house and the flower held in it twice every year on 15th august and 26th January India's Independence day and republic day respectively. At this time, you can find huge varieties of flowering plants for exhibition and sale. You have to visit lal bagh at least once if you are to come to Bangalore. Below are some of the pictures from the Flower show of January 26th 2013.

3. ISCKON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness):

This is a very beautiful temple and a peaceful place for meditation. Bhajan happens everyday and even the temple is also a beautiful sight. There are several programs going on all around the year for school and college students and for the people in search of peace and conscience. I would strongly recommend anyone visiting Bangalore to visit Isckon and feel the difference themselves. There are a lots of activities they do which includes providing lunch for the poor kids and government schools running under the name 'akshaya patra'. There are statues of lord krishna, radha and rukmini inside the temple. they also have many books and sayings written by Srila Prabhupada, the founder of Isckon. It is located in Rajajinagar, chord road, Bangalore-560001. The hill on which it is located is known as hare krishna hill.

Here are some of the pictures of Isckon:

4. Wonder la:

Well to say the truth you would really enjoy going to wonder la than to spend time in the above places if you are a fun loving person. I did too, its an amusement park located in the outskirts of Bangalore. It was built quite recently not very recently though its not very old. I loved water games the most than all the twisting and turning in the dry amusements. Well I like playing in water maybe that was a reason too why I spent more time in water and I'm a little scared of height, maybe that was another reason why I preferred to stick in water. well forget it and about the place 'just wonderful'. Anyone would have a very nice experience with the family and friends. And for the people who is thinking about spending  their weekend at wonder la, I would say "go for it".
The timings are 11 a.m.- 7 p.m. on weekends and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.
for more information you can visit wonder la.
